About Goldie & Associates
Goldie & Associates was founded in 1983 by our President, Stephen R. Goldie. From our inception, Goldie & Associates has taken a unique tack, providing quality environmental and civil engineering consulting services with a strong focus on teamwork. As a result of the quality and integrity of our professional services and commitment to our clients, Goldie & Associates has grown dramatically, now serving hundreds of private, municipal, government, and industrial clients.
Client Relations
Maintaining client relations and anticipating client needs are primary priorities for us. We feel that working with the client and keeping them informed during each step of a project is sound business for both parties.
Staff
As an expanding professional firm, we take great pride in a staff whose individual talents combine to offer a full range of technical and consulting services. Our goal is to create relationships with our clients, working with them to provide the expertise to research, develop, and implement practical yet innovative solutions in a timely manner. Our technical and consulting team includes regulatory and environmental consulting personnel, environmental systems operation specialists, civil and environmental engineers, hydrogeologists, chemists, technicians, draftsmen, and support staff. These key players work hand-in-hand with our clients creating our unique approach to project management, the key to our continued success.
Services
Our areas of service have expanded with our clients to now include civil and environmental engineering, environmental consulting services, water and wastewater operations, surveying, construction management and oversight, pretreatment and NPDES wastewater databasing, and environmental sampling and laboratory services. By offering this range of services in-house, we are able to provide total project control to our clients, from project inception to completion, whether it be development of a new residential subdivision, closure and post closure care of an existing solid waste landfill, or expansion of an industrial wastewater pretreatment facility.
Project Management
All project implementation is conducted under the guidance of a qualified, experienced project manager who, in coordination with the client, contractor, and regulatory agency, oversees each project through completion. Goldie & Associates' project managers have a wide variety of expertise including environmental assessment, hydrogeology, regulatory compliance, hazardous and solid waste management, chemistry, environmental, civil and process engineering.
Goldie & Associates is committed to providing quality services to its clients. This commitment stems from our Participating Management approach, where everyone in the organization has the right and the duty to influence decision making and to understand the results. This management style results in a productive and responsible teamwork approach to meeting our client needs.
An outcome of this management system has been the development of quality control systems to assure project success. These systems have developed from the "bottom up" within the company and reflect the staff's understanding of what can go wrong and how to catch these problems before they develop. We at Goldie & Associates spend a significant amount of time planning projects with our clients to assure that there is an understanding of how the problem will be solved and if everyone agrees on the approach. Although this may seem like a lot of "upfront" work, this approach leads to minimal errors as the project proceeds, thereby reducing delays and cost overruns.
At the outset of projects, project managers are assigned to develop a scope of services, identify team members who will assist in fulfilling tasks, and prepare a schedule for meeting these tasks. During the life of the project, the project manager reviews costs and project status weekly with support personnel and reports this status to management. Reviewing project status includes meetings with staff assigned to the project for technical review of project, meetings with clients for technical and cost review of project, and meetings with company management for technical, cost and systems review of projects. Partial and final documents are reviewed in-house by qualified personnel before submission to the client. This review consists of a series of checks and balances utilized by the entire staff to ensure that completed document packages are submitted. |
